International Festival of Folk Bands.

The festival which has taken place every July since 2002 is another event connected with the multicultural history of Hetman’s Town. For several days the Rynek is filled with colourful folk costumes from different countries of the world and the air resounds with joyous songs in different languages. So far folk bands from such countries as Peru, Mexico, Italy, Serbia, the USA, China and Africa, to name just a few, have performed in the Rynek in July sunlight. On the one hand, the performances are a lesson in different cultures and a parade of all the participating bands, dressed in their folk costumes, along the town streets during the ceremony opening the festival is a true feast for the eyes.

The festival is organised by Zamojszczyzna Song and Dance Group, Association of Friends of Zamojszczyzna Song and Dance Group and Zamość Community Centre. Since 2005 the festival has been organised under the patronage of Polish Section of C.I.O.F.F.
